He'll get pms all day, and he won't be able to shoo them all away unless he changes his status to Do Not Disturb, so pms he WANTED to come wouldn't, either way, you win. Also works with Shing Jea, and other populated areas.

I've had Prophecies since November and I'm just now trying to play Sorrow's Furnace (Not sure why I've waited this long to give it a go

), but in about 15 attempts to do Oro or other quests/farming there I don't get too far into it because of quitters. Actually, I can't really tell if it is a quitter or a true disconnect, but my guess is they are usually quitters. I'm taking my ranger into these 5 man B/P groups and I just wanted to say that right now I think quitters are the biggest jerks!

One monk in particular called out our team because I'd announced that I never did this quest before and the others in the group had only done it a few times. The jerk monk was saying stuff like "I can't believe I'm the only experienced player here.....I can't believe I got stuck with a bunch of noobs." The sad thing is before he did the old rage quit we were rolling through the place with no problems. We were playing smart and noone got killed. I hate people who don't give people the chance just because they are new or relatively inexperienced at a certain part of the game. Heck the first time I went through tombs in a B/P group we cleared with no problems and dozens of tombs runs later that very first group I was in was the best of all. I was a noob then and we did well. So come on you stuck up elitest jerks, give us newbs a chance....my GOD!!!!

lol, i remember that on the double keys/gold chests weekend i was standing on nahpui, spamming "WTT 1 key for 1 unid gold (i don't care if it is crappy)" since i wanted my title and i just couldn't pay 1k per gold unid as they usual are sold

i know that maybe i was wrong, but since there's ppl who are just looking for a specific drop and don't have the time to sit in a city and sell their unids, i thought it was a good chance

long story short, some random guys pm me and start insulting me because "i'm scamming ppl" and "its just sad that there are guys like me in gw"
even though i was saying 1 key for 1 unid gold, so it was to ppl to decide whether they trade or not

funny thing is that the guys that insulted me were the same that were selling their unids 1.5k ea all of them wands and offhands

What I hate about some Jerks is when they usually whine throught the mission. This is usually whining about someone else's "bad" build, complaining that a monk isnt healing them(very rare indeed) or something else.

But why whine? We finished the mission so no biggie.

I hate fun killers. Unfortunantly our alliance had to kick out a guild because of one whiner(the guild didnt want to kick the member because he was a friend of leader) where the rest of the guild were really decent. He would complain in the deep that we forgot such-and-such skill and so on. And if we made a slight mistake he was there to exploit it, and repeat the exploitation. All the while, muttering curses under his breath at us on TS (and was still audiable).

I like to live by the golden rule:
Your not alowed to whine unless your dead
or
Your not alowed to whine unless the mission has failed

I prefer NO whining at all, but I also understand that people need to rant. The first sign of killing player's fun though results in a kick.

Pwnt. This thread never gets old. Anyway, I'm going to go ahead and post uip my experience from yesterday.

So there I am. Hanging out in the Temple of Ages English Dis 1. Minding my own business, when I see a chest run group forming, now, I'm a W/Me, and I like to farm beach. 125 gold to get in really does help out my purse in the long run, so I take the leader up on it.

For a minute, he doesn't seem to mind, and then another W/Me attempts to join, but hey, the more the merrier. I ended up farming beach with 4 other guys one time after they finished their chest run, hella fun... But anyway, he doesn't let the W/Me in, after a note from another party member. Then, the leader kicks me. Ah poo. Oh well.

"LFG CHEST RUN" I say. AAAAAND low and behold him and his 5 other members start griefing me about being a scammer.

Ultimately, after they don't shut up, and make more fools out of themselves than not, half the dis turns on them and pretty much sides with me telling them to shut up, and if I pay my tab to get in then it's all good.

Anyway, while I'm still looking for a group, they're still griefing me (according to other people in the district) aaaand we loose favor.

Had they not been such arrogant #$%^&*()s they could have done their chest run.

I know I personally try to take a farmer or 2 when I start chest run groups, knowing how much crap they get, but honestly, this is out of control.

why? because a chest run group is a chest run group and not a 7 chest runners + farmer group.

I dunno... if it's a chest run group, I figure everybody in the group is going to be a chest runner. The farmer is just mooching off the other players (using them to defray the cost of entry) while not providing any help whatsoever (by helping to test chests, providing an extra target for critters to worry about.) It would be exactly the same if I were to demand 875 gold from the district before entering the FoW to solo-farm.
Frankly, if I go in on a chest run and am left as the only one alive, with some farmer off farming the spiders or whatnot, then why shouldn't I kill the ghost and end the run? If he wants to go off and solo-farm, then pay the damn 1K (it's not like you won't make it back). As it is, this guy advertises that he's looking for a chest run (no, he's looking for seven patsies to pay the bulk of the entry cost).

In my experience, the W/Me farmer will do the entire run. He pays his portion, you get an extra body to take hits for a while. He'll run back afterwards. He'll do his thing farming. Why should I care?

Actually encountered the biggest jerk today while trying to form a BP group for tombs. I'm a bit of an elitist when it comes to BP groups, so I don't settle for anything less than what I expect. So I put out my message asking for experienced BPers only, some guy asks to join, I let him in. He's a R/N, I was very wary of this but he assured me he knew what he was doing. So I let him in, and the following ensues:

Me: Spirit check
Ranger 1: ww8
Ranger 2: fw11
Douche: wtf your bringing winnowing for
*KICK*

I go back to forming a group, he goes back to the open chat

Me: exp bp group needs 1 more exp bp
Douche: Looking for bp group not full of retards like *my ranger's name*
Me: So, um, I'm a retard because I don't let idiots into my group?
Douche: Ur a faggot, go take it in the butt you noob
Me: I'm not sure what sexuality has to do with this
Douche: Go get a life
Me: You're doing the same thing as me and you're telling me to get a life...yeah...
Douche: go RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO urself faggot
Me: Yeah I'll get on that, have fun whining to a computer while I go get ectos and victos stuff

Let's keep going with B/P groups

I used to go to the tomb with my ranger but this time I had decided to monk it. We go in, the rangers of my team were obviously not experienced. Bad luck, I don't mind inexperienced B/P rangers provided there is at least one experienced ranger (I mean.. someone who knows the paths, the pops, etc) and the other don't take stupid initiatives. Nut apparently none of them had been there more than 2 or 3 times.

We start clearing the first level - we follow the usual path: left side, dont cross the bridge, kill the dryers in front of the room, cross the bridge to kill the dryers and the poneys, and then go back to clear the last room. Well that's how it's supposed to be. So we cross the 2nd bridge, about to attack the 2 groups in front of. Then one of the rangers decide to go back in front of the last room and lure one group from there: result, we were surrunded by 2 groups - the catsers took heavy damage but I succeded in keeping everybody alive. I politely ask the ranger who lured the second group of mobs to follow the group and let someone else lure and aggro as he was obviously not used to the place. He tells me he's not a noob and knows what he is doing. I don't talk much when I'm on my monk. I'm usually to busy, especially in a B/P team where i'm the only monk. I just answer: "no, you're not". He didn't answer anything.

So we kill the last mobs and get to the 2nd level. The ranger doesn't move. Fine, he's afk I think - that's maybe better for the team. We keep going, clear the 2nd and the 3rd levels. Then when we arrive in the 4th level, I see the afkish ranger moving back not to be hurt. We kill the mobs around, and I tell him I've seen him moving - no need to pretend to be afk. He doesn't say anything. I insist. Finally he says something like: "I'm a noob so I won't move - you don't need me".

Then another guy of the team got crazy. He insulted the stupid ranger and told him to <leave>. And he was like "I won't stay if <leecher's name> doesn't leave! He's just a drops stealer! He's going to wait here and wait for the Darknesses to drop a green for him and come to pick it up". I tried to explain him that this stupid ranger could keep leeching the team and stay here till the end, that wouldn't change anything since soon we'll be out of range, and no drop will be assigned to him. But this other guy refused to understand this simple truth and rage quitted. I asked the leeching ranger if he was happy now - he told me yes (and a few insults) and finally left. The order necro had left during the argue, so that was only me (with no BR), 3 BP and 1 MM. We made it to the end and got 2 ecto drops...

Someone in my group made a fuss and blew it out of proportion, EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T LET HIM IN. He's like "LOL, N))B (yes, he really did make that typo, I remember)- GO BACK TO ASCALON. YOU DON"T KNOW CRAP blah blah blah." acting like he got runs and is a dirty leach blah blah blah.

The nice levle 19 ranger sat there and used his head, ignored the guy, and continued in his quest looking for a group.

The guy in my group, still wouldn't shut up, even though we all told him the ranger ignored him. His response you ask? "LOL ONLY N00BS USE IGNORE LIST HE'S A PUSSY blah blah"

I kick him from the group. His response? "OMFG U NOOB"

I politely ask him to calm down, and watch his language as there are likely children/ladies present.

He explodes. "Im in a top 100 guild"

me: "you have no tag"
him: "STFU JERK"
me: "please calm down"
him: "STFU NOOB"

He ignored me.

I got a PM from the ranger the next day, he hit level 20 in a run in which a group let him join, got a Bulwark, and sold it for OODLES (like, 2x what they were going for).

We became great friends after that

ON THE TOPIC OF MY CHEST RUN/FARM POST

I think right about now- I feel the need to speak up after my point was proven by the spam of intolerant chest runners.

Anyway, I pay my tab to get in just like anyone else. I don't HIDE that I'm a farmer do I? I'm a W/Me. Half the time, I even start the groups. I do you all a service by starting groups with which you can do your business, and handle collecting the 125 getting in (you'd be suprised how many people hate to do this, once in a FORGEMATSER GROUP I had 4 people refuse, until a monk payed for us all).

I pay my way in. I give you the respect you deserve, as do I. And what do I have to show for it? A few screen shots which I sent into ArenaNet of people spamming and using abusive language in local chat.

You'd all be suprised what patients can do for a man.
